I think it's hard to say something about the quality of a company with just
a few properties. I also thing having the 4 options in the consultancy list
is "bullshit", noone is realy taking care of it properly anyway:
- what is the point in stating full service and freelancer at the same time
?
- what is the point in stating hosting while just organizing it ?
Same with the extensions: there are enough companies stating they set up
extensions for their projects, while internaly they forward that request to
someone else. But still: If I'd have a big project, I'd like to be able to
search for a company who is able to do things properly. Maybe it makes sense
to split up these properties. Having the option to state "we are doing
extensions" makes sense to me. Even saying that a company is able to handle
big projects, but seperate to say that they do not develop extensions in
house.. What is the point asking a company for developing extensions while
they forward it anyway ?
On my side I can easily state that we are able to come up with the whole
package inhouse. If someone asks as fu an offer, they probably ask others as
well. At that time, I can state details about our company, our connection to
typo3 etc., but this is the second step. In the first step they will try to
get offers of companies which are NOT able to come up with serious offers.
Overall I'd suggest two things to improve the list:
- Having a detailed profile would be of any help. Knowledge of certain
things, experience etc..
- Maybe it would be a good idea to set up some certificate....
Don't get me wrong, the list is OK now, but I think it could be improved a
lot in terms of coming up with a list that fits the client...
