I do not think that the IP supports PostgreSQL. It just uses normal insert 
statements and if those fail, then you do not have the content.

So please use the IP only with MySQL unless you really know what you are 
doing.

Have a look at the documentation at typo3/sysext/dbal/doc/manual.swx. It 
should tell you how to setup TYPO3 with PostgreSQL.

I just had a look now and creating DB schemes does not work at all with 
dbal.
