[TYPO3-linux] Typo3 version 4.0 installation problems

Please help, 

I am a newbie to typo3. 

I just installed typo3 4.0 on Linux. Contrary to the
installation guide,  I do not seem to have
typo3_src/t3lib folder. t3lib seems to be deep in the
directory tree rather than the root of the source
tree. 

Has the directory tree changed in the latest version.
Do I need to create a symbolic link to t3lib in the
site root? 

I can not open the site admin backend
http://mywebsite/typo3/index.php
It simple hungs up. Is this a security issue or what?
Please help.
