Nicolas,

RLE compression is probably not related to the problem.

When you go to Basic Configuration in the install tool, under
"FreeType Quick-test", do you see the text in red on yellow field?

Check the following:

- that your php supports freetype though GD
- that you have freetype 2 installed
- that you have fonts installed

If this doesn't help, come back with more details of your system (i.e.
distro you are using, a sample URL and a phpinfo() output).
