[Typo3-linux] No pages are found on the rootlevel! ??

I'm just installing a quickstart package for testing to see if it's what we need for our upgrade( & whether I'll be able to figure it out) I can access the BE with no problem, but the front end comes up with an error ' No pages are found on the rootlevel! '.. can anyone suggest a fix on this?
