[TYPO3-english] How I could connect to a dabase server using Windows XP?

I tried to connect a known database (not in my computer) using 
MySQL-Front and MONyog. Connections failed.

Maybe I would need some application load before them?

I would need to make copies from some databases (Typo3 and some other 
web applications) and create into another server new databases.
