Adding the following to the .htaccess solved it:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^secure43.tophost.ch$
RewriteRule .* /~synweb14/index.php [L]
In total the rewriting looks like this:
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^secure43.tophost.ch$
RewriteRule .* /~synweb14/index.php [L]
RewriteRule .* index.php [L]
