[TYPO3-english] RTE - Adding a javascript event to links

Is it possible to add events to links (not all). It must be easy to do, so
that content editors can do it. Sort of maybe a button or a drop down like
the paragraph styles. A javascript confirm window is required for some
links, but I'm not sure how to make this possible for editors, I added it
myself to the source, but the editors aren't happy doing this, and complain
that they have no idea where to add the onclick event text that I told them
to add to the link.

Has anyone else had similar requirements? Or have a solution? I thought
about making an ext to do it, but it seems a bit silly just for adding an
onclick event to a link tag.
