Yes. It is even easier than with regular page module.

Many... Mainly you are not limited to 4 columns, you can have as many as you want (from zero to infinity). You also do not have to tie your objects to specific subparts in TS and you have many renderings for the same page with a single click change. You can also define your own data and its representation (like products or web site users). There is too much to say...
