[TYPO3] special characters

Hi,
I'm trying to set up a page in Danish, however some of the subpages needs  
some specialcharacters which isn't found in latin-1.
By adding the line config.renderCharset = utf-8 to an extension template  
for the specific pages it seems as if the characters are shown correct,  
but the title shows the ascii converted values e.g.  
"Hadžiselimović" and the backend content-editor doesn't  
seem to use utf-8 instead of danish characters like "æ ø å" it shows "æ  
ø å".

How do i correct these problems?
