Hm, I don't remember your original mail, but it wasn't clear that you  
were using the flags.

The settings are different whether you use flags or text links. So  
try using:

plugin.tx_srlanguagemenu_pi1.flag.CUR.stdWrap.wrap = <span>|</span>
