[TYPO3] SQL causes problem with extentions?

Hey guys (and gals),

I need some help with my extentions. Whenever I enter 'Install
extensions' or 'loaded extentions' I get MySQL warnings:

Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL
result resource in C:\Program Files
(x86)\Typo3\htdocs\typo3wamp\t3lib\class.t3lib_db.php on line 796

Warning: mysql_free_result(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL
result resource in C:\Program Files
(x86)\Typo3\htdocs\typo3wamp\t3lib\class.t3lib_db.php on line 823

I get one identical set for each extention listed on the page. What
causes these warnings?

Is it possible to just download an extention normally from typo3?
Seems easier to me to do that and then just pick it up from my own HD
directly.
