[TYPO3] No connection to the database

Hello

 

I try to install TYPO3 4.0, but I can't even go past step 1.  It says,

 

There is no connection to the database!

(Username: , Password: , Host: ).

 

Those 3 fields are left blank on the error screen, although I enter my valid
MySQL account and password and host is Localhost.  It doesn't work, I have
tried with three different browsers and nothing works.  This is very
strange. Can anybody help?
