[TYPO3] Calendar (cal)

I have set up a calendar event with the new "cal" extension, but now 
have the following problems :

   1. I have set up locations and organizers and selected one of each
      for the event from the drop-down boxes. But both appear as blank
      on the event detail page.
   2. I have set up categories, but don't see how to assign one to the
      event.
