[TYPO3] htmlarea rte <h1>Heading</h1>

Not sure what's wrong, but I've spent a couple of hours looking at it 
and searching but I can't seem to sort it out.

Using the htmlarea rte, links work ok, centring works ok, bold and font 
colours are ok, but headings (h1, h2, etc.) look fine in the rte, but 
display in the front end as <h1>This is my header</h1>.

Actually ... bullets aren't working either, they're coming out as 
bulletbulletbullet.

Any hints?
