[TYPO3] Can't install

It seems that the server doesn't have the permission to read this file. Make sure that the user/group where the webserver belongs owns certain files.

This might be probably the better solution in the case your webserver can't resolve symlinks. Otherwise I would prefer the installation out of the tar-file. Anyway, it seems that the symlinks still owned by the user of your "server people", therefore your ftp-user doesn't have the rights to delete. Please ask these guys again for deleting the obsolete files.

First I suggest that you study the installation guide: http://typo3.org/documentation/document-library/installation/doc_inst_upgr/current/. After that, it might help that you tell your provider the technical recommendations for running typo3 on a webserver. Your provider will know if the server can provide this or not. If not, I might be necessary to change the provider. There are serveral special Typo3-providers, whose hosting packages tailored for typo3.
