[Typo3] Trouble uploading files

Hi, 
One of my clients has been uploading lots of documents to her Typo3 site but
has hit problems when uploading larger files.  She gets this error:  

2:The uploaded file did not exist

The files are about 2-3mb which isn't excessive but is there a file size
limit built into the system which is causing these errors?

I have tested the upload on 2 different networks and get the same error.
