[Typo3] New indexed search?

Hi all,

This may be a stupid question,  but I am pretty perplex about the 
announced improvements to the indexed search engine in Typo 3.8. The 
"new features" document [1] announces - amongst others - search word 
statistics and a crawler. After updating a test site from 3.7 to 3.8 I 
have found none of these features. Indeed the newest version of the 
indexed search engine is still 2.1.3, which has been around since 
November 2004 and that I am already using with Typo 3.7.

Have I missed something? Has the new version been released as a new 
extension (altough I didn't find any extension that would seem to match 
this in the TER)?
