[Typo3] e-bulletin implementation

looking into TER wonder if direct_mail plugin could be
used to make an automated bulletin system. Idea is to
get news from the site (tt_news) mailed to subscribers
every time x amount of new stuff is published.

In addition, since several categories could be created
also need send mail to each one or all of them from
bulletin system or mail client.

eg. Some news were published and mailed to
subscribers, but organization needs send an special
report of some kind and press office wants add some
corporate adds.

So if mail client feed exist they could send e-mail to
some special address and system should do the job.

Anyone is experienced in similar approach? clues will
be appreciated
