I agree with you. The statements in the manifesto outline a promising
way for TYPO3 to go on. They are the result of one week of a
controversial but positive discussion in the core team (including
Dmitry; I took part as guest as I wasn't a core developer a this point
in time).

On a high level these statements give an answer to a lot of questions
that came up in this and the above mentioned thread, eg.

Q (a mature v4 developer): "I really like v4 and its API. Why the heck
should I use FLOW3/Extbase/Fluid/Phoenix then?"
A (the manifesto ;-) ): "Hey, you are free to use, improve and love v4
for another decade or two. We need your ideas and volunteer work."

Q (a young developer): "There is a lot of cool stuff going on in the
world of software development. I have fresh ideas, enthusiasm and time
to volunteer. Why should I choose TYPO3 over the other cool OpenSource
projects?"
A (the manifesto): "TYPO3 is on top of the development. It will enable
you to proof you and your ideas. And you will learn a lot of new
things." ("BTW Don't use the word 'cool' in our community. It has a
smell." the editor)

Regards
Jochen
