[TYPO3-dev] TYPO3 4.1.8: bug in PHP 4.4.9?

I looked that this has been taken account in
http://wiki.typo3.org/TYPO3_4.1.8

Yesterday there was different solution, where asked to include some 
files + add a file.

I'm little confused about the wiki page.
Should I install newer 4.1.8 version, which match with current wiki?
Wait a new version, which works with PHP 4 witout pathes?
