please just keep in mind that many of us to overwrite the little typo3 upleft logo with the logo of the client!

so a basic white, or light grey as it is now is perfect to put a transparent gif.

personally.. more that an actual "re skin" (i think that actual 4.0 skin is good) .. i would concentrate on the css bugs and UI improvement!
there are still many icons missing, missing transparency etc..

just my 2 cents!
