What do you mean

*) PHP4 is rubbish (now that PHP4 is out)

Of course PHP is rubbish. It's a messy crap of stolen ideas and has a 
lousy, inconsistent API (std. lib). The only reason to use it that it's 
widespread and easier to deploy (on shared servers) then, say Java 
(memory/CPU hog), easier to learn and use than C, and less confuse than 
Perl. But from an academic standpoint it sucks. But that's not news ;-)
