 You are definitely right.

 We implemented a fully-fledged "trash" extension recently that has many
 options and fixes a lot of issues we had with the already existing
 extensions claiming to do the same thing.

 Maybe we can take this extension and integrate it,
 so please whoever is responsible for that new functionality get in
 touch with Georg Kühnberger (gk_at_plan2.net) and let's see what
 comes out.
