[Typo3-dev] Extension/plugin development HOWTO?

A document listing how to do various tasks would be ideal. Stuff like
how to add fields and/or to the DB, outputting stuff to the screen,
making custom content objects and so on.
Programming techniques should be irrelevant to this discussion. I just
want to know -a- way to do things. When I get used to the Typo3 API I
can figure out which method I feel is the best for me.
