Hi Dmitry,

thanks for posting that extra info.

This remains somewhat of a grey area for me; in light of the fact that 
noone has explicitly mentioned manipulating or coercing any of the mysql 
character set and collate settings except character_set_database (ie. 
character_set_connection) my concerns must be unfounded.
