It is a pitty :-( that so many (How many?) canceled the participation.

Maybe it is related to the announcement that the network in L2A can be a
problem? I think a lot of people have a huge workload and need to work
at least for some hours @L2A.

For the price of what all participant need to pay for the WLAN (Browser
only? Real stuff with SSH, IMAP, POP, you-name-it-service?) it would be
possible to rent a broadband satellite uplink station for that time
(someone posted an amount what all the participants need to pay together).

Yes of course the event means lot of fun, but lots of people *need* a
reliable network connection to get some work done. The network
availability stuff was (AFAIR) never communicated in a clear way.

We decided to go to L2A. If there is no good network available we need
to leave at the time when it is needed to have such an access.

Anyway: Some network will be available even if a dirty hack is needed.
