looking at all the numbers and percentages i consider it _extremely_
unfair, registering via a online form like that.
people with long names, long city names, long country names and long
company names are having _great disadvantages_.
see me for example: i had to hit 84 keys to complete registration,
including <tab> or mouseklicks for jumping the fields.
in knowledge of my handicap i even added no suggestion for a
T3BOARD06-theme song first, in order to get registration done faster. i
added that later.
there are people that registered with only 30 keystrokes.
is that fair?
what about people from switzerland, signing up with "schweiz", not
"switzerland" just for saving 4 characters? we _are_ international,
aren't we? so let's do it in eglish.
what about people from germany, signing in with a simple "D" for the
country? they safe a number of _6_ characters doing so!
is that fair?
what about people from "the netherlands", signung up with "nederland" in
order to save 6 keystrokes?
is that fair?
seeing the following list of all countries, people registered from, you
recognize who has the biggest disadvantages:
D
Denmark
Germany
Belgium
England
Austria
Schweiz
Den haag (is it a country?!?)
Nederland
Switzerland
Deutschland
The Netherlands
people from the netherlands are handicapped just because of living there
_and_ being so honest to use the official typo3-language english. (see
the netherlands <-> nederland, 6 strokes!)
is that fair?
okay, people from germany, handicapping themselves while typing
"deutschland" instead of the 4-strokes-saving and internationally
typo3-official accepted variant "germany" cannot be helped. hehe.
if you want to see some more statistics about company-names or
preference for long pre- and family-names in some countries and
discrimination of people because of that, i'm sure i can provide them. ;-)
so what's the solution?
i propose a pre-registration-period, where everyone can fill in the data
and get a - lets say - 4-character-registration-code afterwards.
with tis key final-registration can be done. fair and without
disadvantage for anyone.

don't know if you all find it that funny, but _i_ do! ;-)
