OK, I would go for a Nikon, preferably Nikon D70. Why? They did not change
their lense plugins since *ever* so you could still use your old lenses
with this new camera.
Others will recommend the Canon, which are in the sam eway professional.
I had a Minolta, ages ago, but would never go for it again.
What you should take care of:
1.) Buy *fast* memory cards. I recommend the Sandisk ULTRA II cards.
They exist for CF, SD, and some more I think. Other cards are cheaper,
but are way slower, so you have no chances with fast series.
2.) With snowboarding and kiting: Hmm, I would go for water proof
things. Might cost 3 times more than the camera (if you have a TLL camera)
