Dear Phillip!
I totally understand your concerns about Neos, but to make it more
constructive, it makes sense to tell more about what exactly you are
concerned about (which missing features are top on your list etc).
Regarding the organizational split, I don't think it's anything to be
concerned about, and it just reveals the way things were for quite some
time: Neos and TYPO3 are very different products, with different
development teams, different mindset etc. It's almost impossible to use
both at the same time: if you get to like Neos, it's very hard to go back
to TYPO3 again.
One more thing I can add, is that migration from TYPO3 to CMS for our
largest organizational website went really smooth and really took it to
next level in terms of development flexibility. We even published its
source code to give a feeling how live production code may look like with
Neos: https://github.com/sfi-ru/SfiDistr
Neos is indeed very different from TYPO3, don't know if you'll like this
difference, but it's definitely enterprise-ready.
