AFAIK you can do some magic with the .htaccess, but I have never tried it.

Anyway, you should seek out for more professional hosting. Changing the 
document root is a requirement for all major (and modern) PHP applications.
Otherwise you risk leaking data to the user that is server only.

Keep in mind that CMS is going on the same road and will and some undefined 
point in the feature use this kind of setup too.
