[TYPO3-50-general] TYPO3 Neos alpha3 on public web host?

Up until now, the quickstart documentation for TYPO3 Flow and TYPO3 Neos
has been focused on a local installation, for obvious reasons. I'd like to
learn how to get TYPO3 Neos to run on a public web host, probably with no
shell access.

Am I completely crazy?

Any pointers to help guide setting initial permissions via hosting service
control panel (or possibly FileZilla) would be appreciated. I have
installed composer on my local (Windows) system and used it to download the
alpha3 package, with plans to FTP the lot to a simple public web host, set
the permissions necessary to make it work, and see what's possible from
there. If successful, I would be glad to share the recipe that works so
that others can follow.

In particular, if there is a way for me to dig deeper to discover the magic
I need to learn behind the scenes of the flow:core:setfilepermissionsmodule.

Seriously, am I nuts?

     Best,

     --Mark
