[TYPO3-50-general] How to remove index.php from the url

Hi Bastian,

The server configuration is restored back and I have put the line 
putenv('FLOW3_REWRITEURLS=1'); but it still doesn't work correctly. I 
still see index.php get generated in all menu urls.

Do you have other ideas how to fix that?
