[TYPO3-50-general] T3 5 = T3 4-backwards compatibility?

Hi there,

reading these discussion i was just wondering about another approach:

How about a version of the current code that simply removes every
backwards compatibility stuff and especially cares about overall
"lightness", also tweaking
everything that slows Typo3 down?

That would be just refactoring of a proved system, also those content
repository things could be integrated well at the end. Or is this a
contra-productive idea? (sorry then)

I´d be perfectly happy with typo3 as is right now if there would be
"less was to do it" on many parts, less strange pi_base things, less
Typoscript madness and MUCH MORE SPEED.
