By following some best practice you can deploy with no downtime or maintenance mode.

Most important task is to take care of your DB/TYPO3CR migration, the database must work with the new and the previous release. You can do a second release to remove unused property/relation from the database. We use this workflow to deploy our Paas application based on Flow … work fine.

Hi

Is there a simple way to display a under construction / maintenance site while i deploy a new version via surf script? Or can i simply deactivate a site so no more databasechanges can be made and activate it when the deployment is complete?

Actually im thinking about an aditional step in my deployment script to just switch the current symlink to such a maintenance site and at the end switch it to the next symlink.

Cheers
