A word of caution:

How do you keep the framework updated then? How do you pull in other
libraries, if not using composer? How do you manage your own packages'
dependencies?

Unpacking a ZIP, whil it may seem convenient at first, is almost always
a dead end, if you want to to *anything* more than just
unpack-click-look-delete…
