thank you for the praise ;)

Well for the customer SSH isn't necessary at all, even for installation 
we will pretty soon have a web based tool ready. Our PHP requirements 
are usually pretty high for (cheap) shared hosting, currently we are at 
PHP 5.3.2 minimum but about ot raise it probably to 5.3.4 or 5.3.6 due 
to some bugs we had problems with, see also [1].

FLOW3 will run without .htaccess, urls won't be as nice of course but 
apart from that you should be able to go without it.

TYPO3.Surf recently got a bit of documentation, otherwise be welcome in 
our IRC chat or ask more specific questions here and we will try to 
answer them.
