[FLOW3-general] ExtDirect-Request to a database-table with text-fields containing german 'Umlaute' throws Error

Hi folks,

 

when querying a MySQL-Database via ExtDirect, the ExtDirect RequestHandler
throws an UTF8-encoding error whenever the Request contains fields with
german ‘Umlaute’ (ä, ö, ü).  As my database has a utf-8-general-ci
collation, I do not have the slightest idea what is going wrong.
