[Typo3-UG UK] Background Color won ´ t change..?!

Hi!

I have a (stupid) problem that I can´t seem to come across!
I have implemented a HTML-template, but no matter what I do, it seems I
can´t change the background color to #999999.

I have tried to put both an internal and a external CSS on the body tag in
the template (HTML file) - no function...
I tried to simply write a background color in the body tag... but that was
also ignored...

So if I want an other background color what do I do then?
Is there some way to configure it in the setup-field ?
I can't imagine it should be anything complicated - but what´s wrong then?

I would be grateful for any suggestions.
