I agree, the Jive forum search capabilities is what made 
support.typo3.org what it was. I often used Jive's filtering options 
over Google.

The biggest draw back with Jive is "the price".

Since I don't code, I have no idea what would be involved to integrate 
the mailing lists with an existing TYPO3 forum (mm_forum, chc_forum). We 
really need the right human resources and "financing" for projects like 
this. A volunteer initiative is to limited to people free time unless 
there is some type of economic return for the "investment".

I think virtual meetings may be a good way to kick start more commercial 
and non commercial support for the USA!

I've found a combination of Skype and Yugma work great! The free version 
of Yugma works great for basic screen sharing.
