Hello dear, my name is Alejandro Quesada and I just joined this forum. This
is my first time ever joining a forum, so I am not certain what to expect. I
run (only as administrator) the web site of the company I work for
www.carneszamora.com <http://www.carneszamora.com/>  . I am not a computer
guy, meaning I have no such studies, I am a chemist
. But I do what I can to
learn and about one year ago the site was assigned to me. A TYPO3 developer
here in Costa Rica (where we have very few I believe) designed and created
the web site for us, updating and earlier flash version we had, into TYPO3
version 3.8 updated now to 4. The site has a recipe book section
www.carneszamora.com/recetario/ , because we commerce pork meat and
therefore are interested in promoting the consumption of pork meat by
supplying recipes to visitors and subscribers to a list (Newsletter in
mailman) we implemented about 1-2 months ago. I am looking into plug in or
extensions for creating a sort of blog or forum for visitor to discuss each
recipe, and rate each recipe and add more features to it. For instance I
found the tt_rating application yesterday and downloaded it, installed it
and try to add it as content to a page but it did not work
 a even created a
registry and linked to a file and now I can not erase such registry which is
showing some funny characters at front end so I had to get rid of the page.
Well talking to the guy that developed our site in TYPO3 he says that there
is always some typo script to do in order to incorporate and run a plug in
into a site such as ours
 well my idea now is to try to find out some
independence by being able to install and run plug ins
 and that’s why I
joined, I need to learn if possible, or at least get to understand more to
know what to look for and what to ask when looking for a feature in our

Hola, mi nombre es Alejandro Quesada I acabo de unirme al foro. Esta es mi
primera vez en un foro y no estoy muy seguro que como funciona o de que
esperar. Yo administro el sitio web de la empresa para la cual trabajao
www.carneszamora.com <http://www.carneszamora.com/>  . No soy informático,
no tengo estudios en computación, soy Químico
. Pero hago lo que puedo par
aprender y hace como un año me asignaron el sitio web. Un desarrollador de
TYPO3 aca en Costa rica (donde tenemos pocos creo) diseño y creo el sitio
web nuestro, pasando de una versión anterior en flash a esta en TYPO3
verison 3.8 recientemente upgraded a 4. El sitio tiene una sección de rcetas
www.carneszamora.com/recetario/ , ya que comercializamos carne de cerdo y
por tal estamos interesados en promover el consumo de la misma dandole
recetas a los visitantes del sitio y suscriptores a un boletin (tambien en
mailman) que implementamos hace 1-2 meses. Me encuentro en la búsqueda de
plug ins y/o extensiones para crear un tipo de blog o foro para que las
visitas discutan cada receta y la califiquen (rate9 además de agregar otros
features. Por ejemplo ayer encontré la extension tt_rating y la baje y la
instalé y traté de agregarla como contenido a una página pero no funciono.
Inclusive cree un registro que estaba ligado a una pagina y ahora no lo
puedo borrar, y este muestra unos caracteres en el front end y tuve que
borra la pagina, y si la vuelvo a crear vuelven a salir! Bueno, hablando con
la persona que nos desarrollo el sitio en TYPO3 dijo que por lo general hay
que hacer algo de typo script para incorporar y correr plug ins en el sitio
como el nuestro
 bueno mi idea ahora es tratar de encontrar algo de
independencia  al ser capaz de incorporar y correr extensiones
 y por eso me
uni al foro, necesito aprender si es posible, o por lo menos entender
mas´que buscar o que preguntar cuando busque aplicaciones para nuestro
