[TYPO3-translators] update from repository not working?

I've come to the following solution on how to get an update from the
repository:
rm typo3conf/l10n
rm typo3temp/*-el*zip (for greek language only - you have to adapt for your
own)
rm typo3temp/llxml/*
rm typo3temp/Cache/Data/t3lib_l10n

then do the update language from the extension manager in the BE

This works for me. What I haven't figured out yet is how long it takes for
changes to get available through the extension manager
