[TYPO3-translators] error in LL-XML page and disappearing trasnaltions?

wow... 6 years into typo3 translation and discover to not have understood  
anything ah ah !
i have always translated in the server, and then get the translation via  
EM (after 24 hours), thinking that those translations would be kept safe.
you mean that whenever an author install its ext, the translation are  
resetted?
so i should export and send the translation file to the ext author to be  
included into the ext, right?

(or keep a copy of all translations anyway)
