[TYPO3-translators] Can I be a translator?

Hi again!

Thank you for your answers. I am well aware of the community around
Typo3. If I have stepped on somebody's feet, please accept my humble
apologies. :-/

I don't have the time to follow every news list about Typo3, and am
just subscribing to "Typo3-Translators". What currently goes on in the
other lists is not known to me.

On http://typo3.org/extensions/translators/ it says this: "If you want
to help with the translation of an existing language in TYPO3 you need
to introduce yourself on the mailing list and tell how and why you want
to help. If the existing translators for the language can accept your
help they will tell you the URL of the translation server and which
username/password you can use to login for that language."

I just do what the webpage tells me to do. I haven't found information
anywhere about any unavailable systems, so I'm quite lost here.... If
the above info is inaccurate, it should definitely be corrected.

I am the author of one public available extension, which I need to
update. However, I have lots of translation texts for various extensions
lying around. -- Our company has Typo3 pages in 12+ different languages
with willing office staff wanting to help me out on the missing texts.
Guess it would be a shame not to make this available to the
community...

What should I do? -- Do I have to send the translations to the
extension authors, from whom not everybody is available or is there any
glorious online system available?

Have a nice day!

Morten :-)

Hello Morten,

Please. Everybody is doing this without being paid. So please be aware
of the words used!!

Anyways, since the release of TER2 there has been no online interface
for translating extensions. Also, it has been very uncertain how the
translations process for extensions was to be done. I am personally
not
sure if there is any good solution yet!

By following the various mailinglists, this should also be known to
you,
so please do the rest of us a favor by following them instead of
spoiling a good day with you dirty mouth!

Regards,

Lars Houmark

bump!

Are you just all ignorant assholes out there with no sense of replying
to a polite question?!!!

Yes: I read http://typo3.org/extensions/translators/ a long time ago
and basically just want to add Danish translations to the extensions
where it's missing!

Morten :-(

Hi all!

I have been developing quite a few company-specific extensions for
Typo3 over the last couple of years (did one public extension as
well).

Some of the extensions we use, aren't translated to Danish, which I
have done manually afterwards (edited files by hand), so I wondered
whether any of you could grant be access to the extensions
translations
interface somehow, so my translations could be made public to the rest
of you hungering Danes out there...

What do I need to do?

Best regards,
