The requirement for the "official" SVN is that it should be working. Bugs are possible of course but if the feature is added, it should work (no PHP errors, not "Not implemented yet" alerts). Plus all standard rules like one logical commit at a time, comments, ChangeLog, etc.

I think that having experimental branches is a good idea because it gives a lot of freedom to... experiment :D However the result in the official branch should not frustrate user with total changes of the UI (the Mac/Win story).
