is it really necessary to have a clipboard as it is now? I vote for a
much cleaner interface. There should not be any difference between the
different slots. By default there should only be one slot in simple
mode. With a small 'add additional slot' icon can be added more slots
(and of course deleted). For each slot you can define if you need
'simple mode' or 'enhanced mode' - just a little checkbox or probably a
dropdown.


Just some suggestions.
