Yes - that' extremely annoying. That's why
they have been added to tm_contentaccess and
in B. Kraft's kb_nescefe.

I could not live with the standard page module without my extension.
When I used an installation of Typo3 without tm_contentaccess, which had 
them very soon very angry.
The default page module really sucks because of lacking of copy/cut/paste.
It is really extremely annoying to add new content to an empty page 
changing from Web > Page to Web > List.
