I agree that admins would like this too, therefore of course the direct
access to modules could be a part of the "advanced" foldout - and could
possibly be dragged to the default set of icons - this either by
preconfiguration of iconsets, but also by the admins individually.

However I still think simplification without loosing the flexibility of
typo3 nor the interface is important. Shortcuts and redundancy should be
a choice for the individual admin/editor not a default. This is not a
new concept but a lesson learned from almost all major distributors of
software the last 10 years - classic "simple/advanced" interface choice
for the user is found in almost any softwarepackage, be it microsoft,
adobe, macromedia, IBM, Sun or whoever. It appears to be a basic
usability rule for any complex or semi-complex software today.

My point being: Of course we could try to reinvent the wheel by
reinventing basic concepts of usability, but we could also look towards
lessons learned from systems we in any other way compare TYPO3 too and
"skip the fence" in pursue of achieving good results fast.

I think it´s a good and also verified (see above) way to do things.

To others: I´ll be happy to create a more descriptive dummy for these
concepts and even implement some of the for testing, but I need more
voices than Kaspers before I throw 10's of hours into it. I´m not (only)
going to do this for myself, because I´ve already implemented a custom
editor interface(tkr_toolbar), but will only take on the task if others
agree and are willing to respond to it.
