I didn't say that using tabs is bad. But don't try to create tabs only why you don't like to scroll. Use as many tabs as they make sense structuring the input-fields - but as less then you can.

A question that came just in that second:
is it possible to manipulate the html-tag '<fieldset>' to act as tab? Theoretically any html-tag can be manipulated with DHTML - right? I always try to get a correct semantic structure in my websites an not a div-chaos. If we could try to do this also with the backend, then maybe a skin would be possible that is totally accessible for disabled or blind people.
But if a rendering-api is coming up - it could also be achieved by extending it (with services?).
