I have some more suggestions for this idea..
What about showing a link in the result like "edit page XYZ" if you 
enter a number (which could be the uid or pid). Or what about asking 
Google or Wikipedia if you enter wiki:something or google:something..

Those search engines could be installed via the extension manager.. 
..and integrate into the T3 BE search..
